Historic Jamestown June 21st
The Scots Guards have been engaged for a paid performance at Historic Jamestown Island. The Anglican Church of Virginia will again celebrate the first Holy Communion conducted in the Colonies on June 21st, 1607. The service will be held on the same ground as the first service in a building built on the original foundations of the first church.
Additionally, it was at this same place, in the church building, that the first democratic assembly in the new world was held in the summer of 1619. The band will have free admission to historic Jamestown Island and vistors center. Those who attended last year will recall what a pleasant and peaceful occasion this was and we basically were alone on the historic spot. You won’t wan’t to miss this event, all are welcome to enjoy the recreation of the historic service or explore the island on your own. We can make a day of this and carpools can be arranged.
I’d like to put an end to the rumour that Roscoe was in attendance at the original service.
